Sam arrives at Dragonfire HQ in Manhattan and meets Kam, Maire, Kohl, and Shield.
Sam is dressed in a super hero outfit. He is through sitting on the sidelinesññhe
will take an active part in shaping destiny. His hero name is Tower. Far below in
the subway off shoot tunnels is a burning hate, stalking death. Elsewhere, a shirtless
Swift is being needled with a hypo by the doc. The serum is taking effect now. He
will feel weird when the transformation takes effect. Swift lays down and his whole
body is burning. Simon at HQ is in a trance. Neji tells Lee not to be a jerk. Simon,
at class with other kids and Neji and Lee feels like something is going to happen.
Gen has Perri stretching his legs across a corner of the room's bars. He says, "Gennin,
I...I think something just let go." Lee says, "There's your danger, Simon.
We just get back from the Middle East and Gennin kills Perri." Gen tells the
big mouth he is next. Something is coming toward Dragonfire HQ and rumbling starts.
The Prof knows it may be the alien being drawn to Kohl. Kohl tells Prof. Stringfellow
that when this is over they must talk (about what? about how the Prof knew this or
about how dorky the Prof is now?). Prof grows to giant size, willing to talk later
but fighting it first. The creature with a dragon crest insignia on its chest rises
after them in the tunnels. The Prof is knocked out the building but is okay. Kohl
reminds Shield that he has the Shield and should use it against the monster's eyebeams.
Shield says, "Oh yea." Kohl is trying to distract him long enough for Maire
and Kam to close in. Maire gathers the beam off shoot and fires it back at him. Kam
closes in just at the right time. She cuts it from the back out. Tower reaches back
in and comes in, picking up the creature and squashing it against the building and
out (????). It is difficult to tell what happened. It disintegrated Tower says. Shield
says it is over but Kohl thinks it is far from over. Where is Swift? Where is Mark?
Who were the Men In Black? Who was abducting Neji? Kohl thinks the Prof can answer
some of these questions. |
