Maire Siddons has been drawn to a tiny Pacific Island where arcane evil is. Da Feng
and Maire with two other monkey boys from the tribe (one with a thin but long bone
through his nose) investigate. They leave the jeep and go on foot. The ancient temple
that the jungle has reclaimed has evil coming from it. This temple has some scouts
go missing from DaFeng's tribe. It is said the temple feeds off the soul of the victims.
Maire thinks this island is a magnet for the world's evil. DaFeng tells her this
is his kingdom she speaks of, "Have a care, woman." Maire tells him that
in Seattle, one seldom encounters this kind of thing. They cross a bridge with shrunken
skulls on it. The evil is familiar. The boy in back (the one with the bone in his
nose) is speared in his back by a skull which has a spear stick out of his mouth
into the boy's back. It plunges out his front between his ribs. The boy gasps, "Oh!"
The bridge shakes. Chang, the other boy, sees a manifestation and tries to put an
arrow into it but is frozen. Suddenly his head goes on fire. DaFeng wants the force
to show himself. It does...Tiger Man! He leaves in a ball of light. Ottawa, Ontario,
Canada: Mark walks along, thinking life sucks. He feels he pissed it all away: lost
Maire, the team, a future. Three little boy in clone outfits raise their hands with
light balls in them. This screws with Mark's internal circuitry. He grabs a kid's
wrists and holds him up but falls. Commander Black appears, telling him to tell his
Dragonforce friends that their end is near. Mark repeats to himself, "Life sucks." |
