2 Elflord vol. 2 #13 cover Confronted by Cloudshadow in her dragon form, Greylone yells, "Run away!!" Windy is grabbed up by her claw. For some reason, she will take Windy to the queen for execution so Cloudshadow, in disguise, can inherit his powers. She flies off. Greylone, his slyness being revealed by Cloudshadow, puts his hand on Elflord's shoulder but Hawk back punches him down. Hawk tells the others if they arrive too late to save Windy, then Greylone dies. The Queen orders Windy put in the dungeons to be tortured by her first, then executed. Cloudshadow, disguised as a sister in purple (a nun), drinks with the Queen. Shadow Market: Falcon (patch over left eye) confers with Hawk. Outside later, Hawk feels the city is beauteous (Purebreeze's city). She thinks Hawk is a beauteous outlaw. Daopian and Jay were once soldiers for the queen and are now part of the group since their escape from the green putties. Bran is a packrat and knows how to get into the castle. Greylone tells the three, Turo, straight haired blond Jay, and Oriental, black haired, green tunic (open from neck to belly) wearing Daopian that they must work together and they must trust him. Windy is gagged and tied up on his stomach with his chest on a piece of round wool, his crotch on a piece of round wood, and his chin on an elevated piece of wood while his feet are also on an elevated piece of wood. He is shirtless. Cloudshadow will give Windy his last rites but when the chopsman chops off Windy's head, Cloudshadow will take all his escaped power. Falcon begs the Queen to reconsider. Bare butted Bran leads the others through secret passages to Falcon. Windy remains insolent to the end as he insults the queen while two page boys bring him up to the wooden chopping block on a type of altar. Greylone holds the axe which is all he can do as Cloudshadow is stopping most other magic. Hawk blocks the axe, Windblade opens one eye to see Hawk, "Hawk!" The Queen says, "Erickson!!" Cloudshadow says, "Elfheimbane!!" Hawk whacks the executioner's head off. Turo unties Windy as the others attack. Guards with red face masks protect the Queen. Dao tells Hawk to show the guards what it means to be an Elflord since he and Turo have Windy safe. Hawk jumps to their stand and kills many guards. The Queen puts a page boy in front of her. Hawk isn't after her but puts a sword through Cloudshadow before she can transform into a dragon again. As he does so, his face registers pure joy. Greylone calls upon her power to go into him but Springstorm uses his mace hand to knock the wind out of Greylone. Windy gets the magic into him. Two red masked guards come to the Queen. Hawk will be back, he tells her. Greylone vanishes into the crowd. Hawk asks who is with him as he plans to remove the mad Queen and restore the kingdom.
