2 Elflord vol. 2 #16 cover A page boy pours wine for a fully dressed Dove and the Cardinal as they discuss their plans for overtaking the Queen using the Overlord. Cardinal plans to have a Shade visit the Overlord to kill him afterwards. Dove tells Cardinal that he finds the Shades repulsive. Shades come in, admitting that they take drugs to enhance not deform. The Cardinal wants the Monk who has given information to Hawk to be silenced and made an example of. Shades seem to walk on their toes. Hawk is teaching Bran and Turo to fire arrows. Bran makes Turo miss his mark by making faces behind him. Bran tells Windblade not to stick up for his little boyfriend and to go play with his stupid turtle. Turo wants to fight Bran for pushing Windy but Hawk breaks them up. Falcon arrives, wondering if he will spank them now. Windy looks for McTutt, unaware that Bran is about to toss him off a cliff. The turtle bits Bran's crotch and Bran yells, alerting Windblade to where they are. Just outside Greenhaven: Springstorm and Purebreeze find the monk dying. He warns them about Overlord and dies. Four shades come out of the darkness. Springstorm gets three stars in his chest, jumping in front of them so that Purebreeze doesn't get hit. He grabs one Shade by the throat but another plunges a knife into his the left side of his lower chest. Another plunges a long spear into Springstorm lower chest and out his back. Springstorm smashes one's face in, Purebreeze kicks one and hits him with her swords. Springstorm orders her to go. She jumps out a window. Another Shade knives Springstorm's right side. He grabs one in a crush. Another comes at him, "Die you ox! Die!" this one gets on top Springstorm and stabs him at least twice more. The killer leaves the held Shade in Springstorm's dead arm. He calls, "Help me." The Cardinal is Greylone and Ichi's next stop. Greylone wants to take over. He has Ichi's former human friends——at least three of the tribe boys——reduced to size and a part of his necklace. The Cardinal may become part of it. These boys were Ichi's friends from MONKEY ISLAND in DRAGONRING issue 10. Greylone gets Ichi's mind off that the boys were his friends and concentrates on the powerful magic he taught him. An elf packrat with a head piece and two other packrats arrive to take Greylone to the Overlord. Greylone wonders how Overlord knew he was in town. Greylone makes Ichi assist him by zapping the trio into immobility. Overlord below sacrifices the remaining red hood elf boy into a pit of green slime in order to evoke a thing that roams the Black Nebula (elves version of hell). Overlord orders the Packrats to lead the way to the base of the Queen's tower for a night of feasting. REVIEW: Less Elflord's issue than that of the villains who make their mart. There are so many of them now that the heroes seem to be totally unable and unfit to do anything about them. In addition, the heroes are bickering with each other. Nice to see McTutt give Bran what he deserved. Springstorm's death is unforgettable and violent.
