Greenhaven #1 (an Eflord comic) Aircel, 1988, colour.
1 Greenhaven #1 cover In purple capes and hoods, cousins Purebreeze and Falcon sneak around the city. They argue briefly over Falcon's uneasiness at being an outlaw and Purebreeze mentions his unrequited love for Tiang. A crippled alms beggar arrives and gets a coin from Purebreeze and he gives them some info for another. He tells them the Cardinal has Queen's guards in the dungeons awaiting his pleasure. The beggar notices it is Falcon who tells Purebreeze, "Great, now we have to kill him." Purebreeze tells him to calm down while the beggar tells them that they have more friends than they know, fighting the Cardinal. Snow has fallen for the first time this winter. Cardinal tells Dove and a Shade that the Shade must kill the Overlord. Cardinal talks of peace, dying, friends by a warm fire. Falcon wants to know Purebreeze's plan: to get a room at the inn and rest so they can figure a way into the palace tomorrow. The barkeep Derryman asks the Cardinal's men for 12 silver. An old man hits his cup tankard into a Cardinal guard's crotch when he starts to remove his knife to kill the old man, telling him it will give him enjoyment. The old man says, "Then you've got a strange sense of pleasure, son." The old man fights the other guards and Falcon and Purebreeze join him, at first being held back. He once served under Falcon and Purebreeze before he retired. They win but when the old man wants the Cardinal's guards to pay for more drink, an arrow goes into his back and out his neck. An archer who is smiling is behind Dove who wears a guard outfit and his helmet. A hooded elf boy is also behind him. Falcon throws his sword into the belly of the archer. When Dove thinks he's killed Falcon, Falcon says, "I'm a ghost. Boo!" He and Purebreeze run out. Falcon trips and slides on the ice. Dove and four guards follow. Falcon and Purebreeze drop barrels from a dock on top of Dove and his four, who crash under the ice. Dove climbs out but another with his hood up falls back in, one is under the barrel already, and one without a hood up pleads with Dove to help him up, "I...I can't stand it...p..plea——" Dove, up already, kicks the boy in the chin and makes him fall back down, smiling bloodthirsty. Dove is cold but realizes Falcon won't get far in the Shades' barrow which is where he and Purebreeze are running to.
