2 Greenhaven #2 cover A wonderful piece of the Cardinal's head yelling, "You imbecile!" Dove is sick from the ice he fell into. He has his feet in hot water now. A Shade, second level, can't sense but does feel someone is in their compound. Purebreeze knocks one down but the other comes with his spear. Falcon grabs it and knocks him out with the Shade's own spear. Falcon takes off the Shade's clothes and he and Purebreeze will sneak into the compound in Shade's outfits——the compound has a tunnel that goes directly to the palace. Cardinal throws a banana at a serving boy, yelling at him to peel it for him. Dove, sick and taking medicine from an little blond squire, leads reluctant and Shade—fearing Cardinal soldiers (including one Oriental one) toward the Shade compound. In blue hoods and capes, and black Shade outfits——tights and leggings, Falcon and Purebreeze witness young recruits being brought in to feel the chill of the Shade Drug as they are indoctrinated. They capture children and Packrats to turn into Shades. The more of the drug you take, the more you mutate. The pair jump down and attack the Shades. Falcon tells Purebreeze to put the Shade out with as little noise as possible. He covers a Shade's mouth and sticks a sword into his back. When one gets a spear covering Purebreeze, the packrats and kids attack the Shades and beat them down. They will become slaves of Purebreeze and Falcon. Falcon asks, "Want a slave?" Purebreeze says, "Not really." One boy, a former castle page, tells them the way. Dove leads his frightened squire into the Shade compound. The other guards are told to wait outside. Dove and his squire find the naked guards that Falcon and Purebreeze tied to a tree. One is frozen stiff. Another is moving. They warm them about outlaws in the compound. Dove tells his squire to come on. They run, leaving the two naked Shades outside on the tree! Falcon, Purebreeze, and four elf boys move through a tunnel where hundreds of new arrivals lay, their first dose of the drug making them drip slime. Ugly monsters are also on the shelves. It takes a day for the drug to take effect and usually the arrivals are in a coma state till then. After a year or so, they start to look different. The monsters are older Shades who have taken more of the drug. A Master Shade arrives, a giant red monster which grabs two of the boys and seems to engulf or eat them. Falcon fights it. Purebreeze runs into Dove. Shademaster has Falcon tied in his tentacles. The two remaining boys will replace the guards that are frozen outside and Purebreeze will rejoin Falcon...in the Cardinal's dungeon. Dove laughs——hahahahahahahaha.
