1 >Elflord vol. 2 #9 cover A sandstorm causes Hawk and Windblade's sand skimmer to crash. In the clouds are dust devils. They start to bury Hawk in sand but Windblade uses water on them. At a huge outpost of almost Oriental design, Hawk and Windy sell the sand skimmer. They need a Wind Jammer, a bigger vehicle. With all cash spent, the bar tender tells them if Windy will play his guitar, they can have the room is on the house. Hawk thinks of many jokes against Windy's playing (he can hear cats being tortured any time). Hawk breaks into their hotel room to find Bran. He was sent by the Gentlemen's Club, given a list of contacts, money, and a guide named Turo who has red hair and a ponytail. Windy arrives back and tells them the audience threw tomatoes at him. On a huge sand ship, the others feel happy about being on it. It beats many things (Turo says it beats a kick in the nuts with an iron boot). Huge McBane, a fat elf captain with brown beard and blond hair, is friends with Binkie. He can let them off at the Sea of Stones, the furthest point closet to the Moonfinger Mountains. Dwarves mine the rocks and melt them down into magnetizum. A big black slaver named Springstorm wants to go where they are going. He has one hand and the other arm ends in a metal ball. He wears ear rings and a blue vest, no shirt, and red pants. The rocks gets thicker and wet. They climb through a tunnel where Hawk hits his head just before a warning from Springstorm. It leads to a swamp inside the floating stones. It gets deeper as they move on. Tiny bug eyed monsters with pitchforks attack them. They are like the creatures Nendo had. A fanged skeleton tells his creatures to take them, they will make excellent slaves for their ship.
