1 Elfheim vol. 4 #1 cover Hawk wears no shirt and a robe around him as Dao, wearing a leg—crotch tight short one piece and his hair up in a bunch in a new style and sandals with two swords, reports. Dao's backside is only covered by strings and a small cloth. Hawk tells them the two page boys with the torturers haven't talked yet. Hawk tells them they won't talk...they don't know anything. It is Greylone's doing, Hawk knows. "Son of a bitch! I hate magic!" Dao tries to stop Hawk from letting it eat him up like this. Hawk cries a tear, "I've lost Windblade." Rain falls. Big troll like elf torturers have the two pages tied down on points and one seems to have a light shafting into his belly button. One page tells him their puny devices are nothing. They will tell the torturers nothing. The troll loves it when they struggle. Bran tells them to get on with hit——he is sweating like a river. Bran has his new jacket open and no shirt on but straps running from his shoulders to a center piece which runs down to a buckle and his tights. On steps in the rain, another elf (The fourth boy and the only one not caught by Hawk, that meanie) was told to wait 13 days and then to use the orb. The boy bends over and moves upward, having to think on his own (nice piece of artwork and shading). A land has gone black: Greylone and Nendo figure it is time. Over a fire in another orb, freckled Windy, Kibbi, and demented staring Ichi are huddle together, their arms around each other's entire bodies——legs, feet, arms, shoulders, backs. Ichi likes the exquisite torture as the dark arts writhe within them. Yet he won't loose it. He uses the torture as his own and reaches out. The wet page boy calls Ichi forth. Nendo feels a tremor in the magic field she laid. Ichi calls to the slave boy and tells him that Windy's page Leaf is here but his mind is shielded. He needs the slave boy's and Ichi will transfer his mind with his. They will both switch places, he needs the slave boy here. This boy has on ropes and a neck brace like Leaf. Ichi needs the slave boy here in Nendo's horror pit so he can feed off his suffering like an electric jolt of energy. Greylone tells Nendo to kill the boy in the pit, "Ichi is drawing power from him!" Ichi, his face as demented as ever, tilts his head, his eyes are wild (and this is another fantastic piece of artwork!!!) tells Greylone it is too late. Greylone is caused an overload by Ichi who is still in the orb and knows what he is doing. The top of Greylone's head explodes upward. Troll elf is going to pull one of the two page boy's legs off even thought they tell him they don't know where Windblade is. They are both crying. Bran, his jacket off now, tells the troll not to do that——if he does that, they would have to stop and that would be too bad. Another troll elf comes with the slave boy that was outside, "I found anudder one outside." The troll wants to gag him and use the whips. Bran says, "Hmmm...no." He will take him to the king since this one claims to know where Windblade is. Bran goeson, "...but let's put the other two into the Iron Maiden and fill them with hot oil!" The torturer blesses Bran, calling him sir. Garth sees Turo is gone and finds a boy with ropes holding onto a neck brace around his throat holding a torch. The boy is sweating and crying. Garth finds two boys holding a cauldron over a fire, two naked boys with no hair on their heads or bodies. Garth looks into the cauldron and sees Windy with is eyes shut, calling Hawk, telling him that Ichi is back. Garth runs to warn Hawk. Leaf has been taken to Hawk, his hands tied behind his back. Hawk tells Dao to get ready. He knows where Windblade is and "I've had it! Enough of these damn wizards! This time I'll carve them to pieces with a good solid sword! NO MAGIC!!" Heart of cruel blood. A fate for this despair.

Backup story first page Early morning, second day at Fiddle Wit Island: Tapiet's night shirt is one he won off a Sorulian officer in a card game. It says STARDUSTERS in foggy letters. Tige asks if that is his uniform but Tapiet tells him no it is just his glove. Tige is in his longer shorts and sandals; in some scenes he looks far bigger than Tapiet. Turk has invited him to check some markers with him: a 3 day cruise, "Just him and me!" Tapiet takes off his night shirt and puts on short shorts, telling Tige that Turk hopes Tige is a Selkie. Tapiet will explore the island. Tapiet tells Tige he could come out to Turk cause he's a real believer in Faerie. Tige will be leaving in an hour and is too excited to eat breakfast. Tige tells him he can wade to the mainland if he gets bored with the island, close to Skillyhope but tells him to look out for Ralph and his gang of bullies. they always pick on Tige and his friend FOXFIRE. Foxfire won't use glamours to disguise himself and, "Well, he looks almost as weird as you do!" Tapiet comes back with, "But I look even more human than you!" Tige points, "Yeah, sure! All little human rug rats have tit rings (on his right nipple), tattoos (on his neck), long white hair, and smoke cigars!" Tapiet tells him itis a candy cigar. Tige counters by telling him that Ralph and his friends will pound on him. Tige leaves Tapiet to cross his arms, "Rats! I thought for sure I'd fit in with the Earthlings!" His hips are not fully covered by his tiny shorts. He thinks about wearing a shirt with a high collar and cutting his hair but decides not to, "No! I'm a book! We are always unique in the whole universe. And I'm proud to that I'm a book! So, Ralph, you're one of those assholes who bully anybody you feel is different, ehhh. Well, you're gonna find out different kicks butt!!" On a high rock, he waves goodbye to Tige and Tuck. Tapiet would ordinarily avoid bullies like Ralph but he has to find out how to help Silverband, so he seeks out Ralph first. He finds a kid with black hair, short cut in front and long bangs with a fanged dog and thinks, "Then again maybe I won't!" As Ralph pulls his hair, he says, "Dorkter Ralph, I presume..." Ralph calls him a wuss, asking how he knows his name. Tapiet says it was under the wish you were missing poster and kicks him between the legs. He throws something at the dog to get him to leave. Tapiet finds Foxfire in a tree with a wound on his side, shorts on only and big puffy hair like a fox. Ralph sicked his dog on Foxfire and it hurts like hell. Foxfire tells him Ralph is gonna be pissed when he comes to. Tapiet says, "He's gonna be lucky if he can piss when he comes to." He will take Foxfire to a doctor with Finn if he can get him to the house. Foxfire faints. They passed a waterfall and trees. Tapiet finds a treehouse with a ladder.
