Elfheim vol. 2 #3 Night Wynd, 1992, b&w.
1 Elfheim vol. 2 #3 cover Hawk's shirt gets ripped open as he fights the monster that is crushing Bran, Dao, and Cydrillan. Cyndrillan gets taken down and eaten. Hawk chops at the monster but it rises up in the water, a crab like face with three eyes and horns with plant like Venus traps. Hawk's shirt gets totally ripped off as he fights the monster, jumping at it with his sword raised. Hawk slices across the lower eyes and then the third gets stuck. Dao and Bran run for it. Hawk kills it and is thrown before it dies. He wonders how many more lives will be lost before they stop Ichi. Windy in a jester's outfit and Turo are in the city. McTutt runs off for help. A real building in a photo is Ichi's chambers. Windy can feel evil. A full page of Windy's face is just brilliant. Windy mentions that it doesn't feel like Ichi is inside, that the evil is emanating from somewhere else. Ichi's eyes seem permanently white. He has learned much on his travels with the ancient ones. Ichi must now focus on the magic he left in the courtyard and focus on going home to kill Windblade. He makes himself go back. Bran is not sure of which way they are going. Dao wonders why not...he is supposed to be such a good packrat before he was king. Hawk sees a light ahead. Puddin comes in with a lantern. Hawk can tell them apart by their eyes. Puddin sees Bran, "I see you got idiot king." Dao asks if Puddin wants him. Puddin thinks about skinning him to make a fashionable coat. A youngish guard at the gate with a spear has white eyes, no pupils and with him is a troll like elf guard. The boy's eyes appear. The guards let in a slave boy with oil for Ichi to perform a spell. The troll like guard recalls when Ichi conjured up a giant beetle. Turo, his hair up in a large ponytail and with no shirt on arrives, carrying Windy, telling them Master Ichi needs a page boy for his experiments. The guard would swear he has seen the two of them before. Another slave boy asks who they are. He tells the guards they should not have delayed the pair. The slave boy wants to see what the Master does to Windy, not knowing it is Windy. Ichi says, "Windblade is close. I can feel him. He will soon die."
