1 Elflord: Dragon's Eye #1 cover Deep in the sub basement of Cardinal's palace in Greenhaven: in the tunnels Hawk tells Dao that the creatures that live in the tunnels usually fed on the packrats. Bran, his tongue out near the Shade's neck, asks him, "Little Shade" which way to the Cardinal's chambers. The door is locked so Hawk tells Bran he guesses he will have to hurt his friend. The boy yells not to. They did come this way. A one way mission perhaps. Dao thinks he's found another way: streams run all over underground. Bran tells "fluff boy" this doesn't let him off the hook. Dao tells Hawk he should go. Hawk is the king after all. Hawk takes off his boots and shirt and swims under water. Bran tells Hawk, as he hugs the Shade from behind, close, "We'll use the time to get better acquainted." Before he dives, Hawk says, "Oh brother." Bran tells Dao to grab an arm of the Shade who begs. Dao tells them to go play. Bran looks mean, "Yea. Let's go play." Still roped to the stone pillar, Mully tells Cloudshadow, "My father's gonna get you get two, bitch!" Cloudshadow makes Ravenclaw go to see to their other guests. Mully laughs, "Yea, Ravenclaw, get lost." Cloudshadow tells him that is no way to talk to her lover and makes him zapped. Soon, when his father joins them to enslave the capital, they won't need him as a bargaining chip. Hawk finds three boy elves tied up and they panic as they feel "a slimy creature"––Hawk swim past them and come up. Cardinal, in his chambers, finds Leaf who tells him Borgamul had him, Ichi and Kibbi. There was much pain and he made Leaf like it. "I...I begged for more." All were tortured, "He took so much of me." Dao fights Ravenclaw and gets a good kick in before Ravenclaw tosses him headfirst into the wall. Dao falls, seemingly lifeless. Dead? Bran has the Shade's shirt totally off when they hear something. Ravenclaw finds Bran, "Well, Bran." Bran says, "Hello." Ravenclaw hugs Bran and tells the Shade he will suffer later for his sins and calls him a pig. First he squeezes Bran into unconsciousness and asks help in collecting Bran and Dao. Hawk hugs himself as he is cold after surfacing to the Cardinal who blames his catamite Windblade. Cardinal still acts prejudice against Windy but shows Hawk where Cloudshadow and Ravenclaw are. Dao and Bran are mouth to mouth with a tube between their lips, locked together. This was Ravenclaw's spell. They are both naked, sitting on their haunches, a chain coming from the tube between their lips holding a pot between their bellies and hanging there––burning incense. Hawk stares.

The boy face matches the elf art and character fairly well. The Colonel laments that elves cannot make good brandy. There is a market on Pickerl Street a few blocks away from the Club. The Dragonfly's owner's wife has a voice that annoys. The Colonel think of his flat in London, Harrowgate and the 7 Dials back home. Roasted chestnuts of that faraway place. He had peers at the Royal Explorer's Club. He liked cigars. He liked the little beggars that drove him to distraction there. Binky has lost his leg in a battle at sea with a great and monstrous clam. The Colonel suspected the Captain had run aground when he was drunk in his cabin. Kerri padded along the smooth cobbles of Side Street with a huge bundle. It was mid summer and the heat was oppressive. He was in a foul mood. Twice a week he was to deliver supplies to the Gentlemen's Club. He was a page of Hawk's. He has satin tights and dainty velvet slippers and a silk blouse. Kerri turned onto High Street. Jeers of gangs and less fortunate boys would await him on the trip back and who were not chosen to be castle boys. Kerri thought he would faint as Merlin towered above him. Kerri has blond locks. Merlin IS the Wizard, part of the Club. He shows Kerri up since they have to make another order. Merlin asked for a map that Binky has been waving all over Greenhaven. Kerri knew something heinous was about to happen. The Wizard fished out his own pipe from the fireplace. Merlin cannot explain just yet what was going on.
