1 Ripper #5 cover Aaron, weak, stalks the street. Willard buys a gun from a black man and shoots him dead to see how it works. He feels good with the gun...itmakes him a real man. If Ripper is out there, he will fix him, ruining his empire like that. Ripper comes at Willard but Willard shoots him. Willard doesn't care that those animals killed Ripper's woman--they kill a lot ofwomen--"it keeps them out of mischief." Willard tells him that the only way to come out on top is to screw the other guys, "I'm just real good at screwin'." Ripper runs at him but Willard shoots his knees out and Ripper falls. Willard points a gun, "What a complete idiot." Willard shoots Ripper's elbow. He continues to shoot every now and then, taunting Ripper.Two days later...Jammahl enters. He was in Europe when Skuffy's sister died and during her funeral. He broke up with the sister a long time ago but didn't hate her. Jammahl's dad fills him in on events: Slapton is an ass,Willard is still sockin' the life out of the community. Jammahl wonders if this Ripper will get Slapton too. Skuffy is gone, also. Jammahl says, "Dad there's a big white dude on a cot." He has the Ripper here. One of the brothers found him and brought him here. He has 20 slugs in him. "White, black, it means nothin! Please understand...they killed my girl...yours, too.They've gotta be stopped. It'll only get worse." Jammahl isn't sure it is right or wrong--he feels his frustration, too. But he wonders where one starts. Dad tells him the Ripper is dead. Next day: Willard is fine and is fleeing the country. He calls it a holiday. He never knew how positively exhilarating to shoot someone. Slapton is on TV, relieved, "Relieved for them Poe innocent children who cowered under their beds at night afraid of that maniac with a knife. Ah say the world is a better place without that psycho homo in his tights." Willard says, "He does go on, doesn't he?" One thug calls him a dork. A big lug says, "I kinda like him." Another says, "You're a dork." Ripper is there, telling Willard he is a fool with his ass in asling. Willard blows his colon. Ripper says, "Yeah, get me, sucka." Ripper punches one with his knife, taking out Fread's eyes. A thug reaching for his gun (which is under his shirt and in his pants) gets his crotch ripped out or shot out. A guy with long hair and glasses is in a corner and Ripper asks the punk for a choice, "I can skin you alive slowly or I can blow your head off with the gun. Choose." Bam! Willard make a face. Ripper comments, "Go ahead, Willard, run! That way it'll be more fun." Another gang of gay men attacked Slapton who is in the hospital this time. No one claimed Ripper's body. The aide tells his Chief that this wraps up the case. The Chief says, "Don't bet on it!"
