Something odd happens. Right in the middle of the issue, anothercomic seems to start. The city is full of street gangs, beggars, thieves,prostitutes, new society around the old, new buildings around the old, once athriving bustling port. It is a place where the rich go to find the In Scenewhere the refuse of modern society come to live. Chen, a somewhat Orientalhuman in leather jacket is with Alex, a little blond boy, trying to make itto see Cotton's band. Cotton is Alex's sister. Alex carries a skateboard andtakes Chen's chips. Alex asks Chen for money--he is rich. Alex is savingother money. Beatles posters are on the walls of the building they are near.In the background of other city scenes are Indiana Jones, Tarzan's son, StarWars characters, punk rockers, short cut shirt wearing dudes and girls. A copcalls them hippies. Chen asks Alex, "What's a hippy? Someone who's fat?"Alex tells Chen his mom was a hippie but dad now calls her a yuppie. A coplets the two of them go with just a warning after going ballistic on themboth like out of a I WANNA ROCK video. Chen makes a comment about this andAlex giggles. He was going to arrest them but when the rest of Alex's friendsshow up, he lets them go. The other three look like Alex. Chen calls themclones. Billie's Barf Bistro--over 12 served and Chuck Berry are among thebackdrops of the alleys. Two older men watch Chen and Alex leave, upset thatthey are getting away and that the cop is stopping them from taking him(Alex? Chen?). In a lower place, three robed men get a call from Viper,Bingo, and Turk. With Viper is an old man with a headset on, three fugitivesfrom CATS. A pointy earred man from an entrance way seen only in the darkfrom far away and smoking a cigarette, tells them to get him. This is prettyconfused and it seems as if they want to get Chen. This man is Mr. Ocre whorepresents people who want the boy, Quan badly. Viper is the head crime lordin the area. Viper calls Bingo and Turk to get Alex at the movies and he willbe used to bring Chen to them.
