PRELUDE TO DOORWAR 1ñSORROW'S END: Bailon has lots of humans digging through the
rock mountain to get to Sorrow's End. Female elf, red haired Windstone surprises
the two scout boy elves Shashen (green neck collar with blue circles, bare chest
and stomach, blue wrist bands, blue boots, bare legs, long thongñloin cloth, brown
hair, held in two pigtails in front with green tied, dark blue eyes) and Silver (blue
haired, blue eyed, blue shoulder cape, sash tunic). They return to warn Savah, who
recalls little Dart asking if humans chased them from their home (ELFQUEST BOOK 1ñFIRE
AND FLIGHT). She tells them Sorrow's End will live on even when the oasis will fall
and wither. Ahdri has rock shaped a tunnel into the mountain and tells Suntoucher
it is finished. Suntop tells Ahn Lai he can get into Windkin's head but Windkin,
just sitting, not moving won't let him in. Ahn Lai sits against a tree. Ahn Lai tells
Suntop he will stay with blue robed Windkin, "I will. Heññhe's my friend!"
Dart tells PeiñLar to live on in the forest, not to confront Door. Thuggop tells
his slave boy (worthless one) to stay by him when they get into the village of the
spirits. He tells him he will carry the magic things for him and if he has done well,
they will see if he roasts him for supper when the work is done. Bailon tells Thuggop
that they no longer fear the spiritsññthey can bleed and die. Shashen looks as if
he has blondñish mustard colored hair as the scouts watch the humans come upon them
in the morning ("I've never seen so many ANYTHINGS all in one place!").
Windstone sends Shashen to warn Savah that the elves must all get into the tunnel
now. Windkin flies over in a thongñloin cloth to see what is ahead of the party of
nine. When he gets above the clouds, he thinks, "So quiet...peaceful."
Someone keeps sending to him. Suntop feels it, too. Windkin saw a river ahead. Savah
overlooks at the elves prepare to leave, taking with them, treasures: seeds, tools.
A barechested dark elf carries two bags as a blond friend looks on. Shashen chokes
as he stands overlooking his home. He hates the humans and sobs. A krraash signals
the humans are through. Windstone and Silver come running to him, not being able
to distract them the humans any longer |
