WINDOW OF THE SOUL: Pei Lar tells Dart he whines like an old hag, calling him little
chief. Dodia is getting a strange feeling as they enter the tunnel under the statue,
wade through green water, and listen to PeiñLar's thirst for revenge. Dart tells
Pei Lar he will not die for her or her cause. She shoves him aside, "I knew
we were not friends, spirit, as I knew you would eventually get in my way!"
Dart tells her to shut up. A guard calls to them to show themselves. Pei Lar jumps
up and with her club cracks a guard's head. Chot guards Dart's back as he slices
a guard away from him. Chot hits one down. Door floats to them. Door looks at Dodia,
both feeling the same thing. Dodia is recognized by Door! Dart tells them they can
nothing about Door now. Pei Lar wants to kill him and runs at a stone but she and
it fall down off the tower, the silly woman screaming all the way down. There is
a blast from the bowl of fire. Door's cleansing begins. The fire burns everything
as an egg shape forms over his city. One slave boy now has brown hair. The human
man tells Jethel and Suntop they must flee. He grabs them both, one in and under
each arm, and jumps into the water. They go to a place that legend says the spirits,
like them, builtññelves that lived under the water! Ahn Lai's lungs are assaulted
but he races to where he saw the man and the two spirits go under. He jumps into
the river where he saw them dive. The man tells the boy elves he is called the Wanderer
as was his father and grandfather before him. Ahn Lai finds them. He hugs the man,
"The whole world is burning!" The man tells them there is enough air for
the three of them to wait out the fire. He tells them to stay here until the water
tells them it is safe, "You are the future, remember that!" Jethel tells
Ahn Lai that the man went away because of him. "You humans ruin everything!
I hate you!" Ahn Lai holds himself. Kimo tells Shenshen they have to escape
while they have a chance, "Don't make me carry you!" She can't leave Suntop,
her sister's son. Yun is in the boat with humans from PeiñLar's camp, who won't wait
any longer, "Get in the poking boat," Yun calls to them. A 1000 times a
1000 are consumed by flames. All turns black...and white! Dart tells Chot he doesn't
trust anyone any more. Door has Dodia and they hope she is all right. When Dart tells
him, "I don't trust anyone anymore," Chot leans on the head of the marble
slave boy, "I knew it! You're turning into a GoñBack." A dreadlocked slave
boy and a bald headed one comes with refreshments from Master Door. Dart thinks it
is poisoned. Chot will eat it anyway. One slave boysays, "Thññthank you..."
He tells them that was the last time they went out before the world ended. A slave
boy with long thick hair sits outside a chamber with a torch. He has on a collar
and what may be a belly button jewel and loin cloth. He sits on a pillow. Inside
a chamber, Door is making love to Dodia! "It has ended...and begun, my sweet...we
will have son...a glider..an heir!" The stone slave boy stands silent as Dodia's
(or is it Door's?) eye sheds a tear. |
