The boys play games: Jethel being the water monster who is hungry, Koni wanting to
be Jethel the hero, and then Jethel wanting to be a new enemy Ahnn Li, getting old
and rotten. A fluffy white cat shows up and the others all admit they have never
seen one before. Arro wears a huge leaf on his head like a hat with a point and a
skirt like bottom. Willowsnap has on a similar hat. Arro, Koni, and Jethel are barechested
and stomachs showing. They follow it. Sylvie really wants it, whatever it is. They
lose the track of the cat but then find it again. As they climb huge rocks, Jethel
warns them to be careful, they don't have a healer. They get awfully high up. Jethel
warns them to take it slow. Koni wants the dogs to stay on the ground, not following
them. Jethel tells them he is not being a chief. He will looks ahead. Around the
corner, where Jethel thinks there might be very serious danger...they see the cat
with a mouse. Or something. Jethel is mad and crossing his arms. Koni laughs, "Don't
worry Chief FireóEye. I still look up to you...giggle." Arro yells, "Heyo,
it's another whole beach for us to play on!" They see a towering wooden structure
which was made from a humans' sailing ship. They find the cat sleeping near an exit
of some kind of carrying cage or something. Sylvie wants to keep him, thinking perhaps
someone brought him here on that ship. Jethel smashes a large rock on the lock to
the chest that they found. They find lots of clothes, swords which remind Jethel
of trolls' work, books. Arro with a strange bulbous hat on, play sword fights with
Koni, "You be Ahnn Li now, Koni, come on, fight me! Haha." Arro knows what
Sylvie is going to do with the books. She will try to teach the kids all kinds of
things. They all run, including a wordless Jethel. The boys think they should run
back to the Holt right awayóóódoing so just to get away from Sylvie. |
